Nilla is the newest member of our family. She is this cute little hamster Kelsey is holding. We had an opportunity about a month ago to babysit a few "rodents" for friends and my kids fell in love with their hamster. Kelsey is so cute with it and never fears even if she gets a little nibble. She puts Nilla in her clothes and even has driven her in her barbie cars. Sometimes I wonder if Kelsey realizes these are animals!?!
We adopted her or rather as they tell us she adopted us. The sales lady pulled several different hampsters out for us to hold and play with and some were so jumpy even for the sales lady. Once we found Nilla she was calm and let us hold her so we knew we would be taking her home.
This was the kids pet and they were saving money for it that when it was time to buy the animal we put all their pennies and change on the conveyer belt and helped the cashier count our money. Marc wondered why we didn't just give them the cash but frankly I didn't want all that change either!!
