Today was the last soccer game of the season and this soccer mom is one glad mama!! Conner and Kelsey who are the cutest in their too big shirts and little bodies just didn't bring their A-game. Conner liked to watch the airplanes flying by and Kelsey was too interested in spinning around to look for the ball. Marc-being the coach-had the never ending task of trying to get all the 4 year olds to look for the ball. He could be heard yelling at the kids "Everyone point to the ball" and still some kids couldn't find it. Marc went out of town and the couching duties were left to me. I can't say I was the smartest person showing up for the 8am game with all 5 kids and the dog in my flip flops. The coach of the other team came dressed to play and while I was just having the kids try and kick the ball in the net for the warm up she was having her kids run laps around the field and then finish with jumping jacks-did I mention these were 4 year olds? All in all it was a good season although Conner and Kelsey aren't ready for the big leagues.
Now my other soccer player-McKenna had a much better season. Her team went away winning all their games except for one. Her coach-who was a college student who just wanted to volunteer her time-took the entire team to Chuck-E-Cheese for their last practice. She loves to play and is getting pretty good at the sport until she left with her first injury of the season-a twisted knee cap. She has been limping around all day but plans to make a full recovery.

YEAH for us! Soccer season is over (at least until the spring). I can't believe that you were brave enough to coach today. Chalk that one up to lessons learned!

Connor and Kelsey play soccer like Kade! It frustrates Clint and makes me smile when he's chasing butterflies and spinning like there's nothing else going on around him (a wrestling match, maybe. Especially NOT a soccer game!) He actually kicked the ball a few times last spring and I was lucky enough to catch one of them in a picture (Ha! proof!) Cute Kids, Big Smiles!
